Samsung Galaxy S3 – How well is it Designed?

The Samsung sales in the mobile sector has sky rocketed in recent times, making them the largest producer of mobile phones. They are the leading manufacturer of android based phones surpassing Taiwanese manufacturer, HTC. The major part of the success is contributed to Samsungs flagship – The Galaxy S series, and the latest to enter the market is the Samsung Galaxy S3. With the Korean company giving it the tagline ‘Designed for Humans’, how well has it been designed?

The Spec sheet for the Samsung Galaxy S3:

  • Dimensions: 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm
  • Weight: 133 g
  • Processor: 1.4 Ghz Exynos Quad Core
  • GPU: Mali-400MP
  • Display:, 4.8 inches Super AMOLED Plus, 720×1280 pixels
  • OS: Android v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)
  • Camera: 8 megapixel (back) with LED Flash & 1.9 megapixel (front)
  • HD Recording: Full HD Recording
  • Memory:
    • 1 GB RAM
    • 16 GB Internal Memory, Expandable with a microSD, upto 64 GB
    • Battery: 2100 mAh, Li-Ion
    • Additional Features:S Voice, NFC, SmartStay

Straight of when you look at the new Samsung Galaxy S3, you will notice it looks very different compared to its predecessors with much more curvier edges. The home button or the centre button is also elongated by its sides. Overall the looks resemble the Galaxy Nexus rather than the Galaxy S Series phones. The built of the phone may look deceivingly brittle but is quite sturdy made up totally of polycarbonate. The Galaxy S3 weighs more than its predecessor S2 but is surprisingly feels quite light on the hand. The front the S3 packs a really solid Gorilla Glass 2.

The Samsung galaxy S3 has a 4.8” Super AMOLED Plus screen which is quite brilliant. With a 720×1280 pixel HD resolution, the images displayed look amazing. The wider screen adds a better experience when watching HD Videos or playing HD games on the device. The Display on the S3 is much sharper and has a better colour saturation when compared to the S2. However the screen may appear dim when you use the phone outside on a sunny day but that’s more of a flaw with the AMOLED technology than the phone itself.

Galaxy S3 contains a power-packed 1.4 Ghz Exynos Quad Core processor, which is one the fastest processors built by Samsung.  This makes the Samsung Galaxy S3 one of the smoothest phones I have ever held, opening apps is a breeze with almost no lag. However with such a powerful processor, comes the problem of battery life, and the tackle that Samsung has developed an eye-tracking method called Smart Stay. The idea is that the phone will track your eyes when looking at the display, and dim it when you’re not checking out your phone. Samsung has also lowered most of the brightness settings to help conserve more battery.

Coming to the camera of the Galaxy S3, it has a primary 8 megapixel camera with autofocus & LED flash and Secondary 1.9 megapixel camera for video calls out in the front. The overall image quality of the camera is very good with a plethora of additional features & settings to play around with to further fine tune your image. The camera also supports full HD recording.

Samsung has also reworked its Touchwiz UI to make it smoother & more user friendly to use. However I still prefer HTC & Sony’s respective UI over Samsungs. The stocks apps are better when considered with its predecessors. The battery life is quite good especially considering the large screen and the quad core processor.

If you want a smartphone with fast performance, HD screen and loads of features like NFC,SmartStay etc. and have the cash to pay, you should definitely buy the Samsung S3.The Samsung S3 is the one of the best ,if not the best smart phones in the market currently.

Pros: Loaded with every Feature you can imagine, Fast Performance, Amazing HD display, Light on hands.

Cons: Needs a better design and built.

Definitely believe that which you said. Your favorite reason seemed to be on the web the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get irked while people consider worries that they just don’t know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing without having side effect , people can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks
